Add the invoice request form to your store

The invoice request form lets customers ask for a VAT invoice before checkout. They tick I need a VAT invoice, choose Personal or Company, and fill in their details. The invoice is then issued with those details.

The form shows on the cart page and cart drawer, and on product pages when the Buy now popup is on. Everything is set up on the Storefront page in Lisive eInvoice.

Step 1: Turn on the app embed

1. Go to Storefront. Under App embed, choose the Theme. Your live theme is marked (Live).
2. Click Turn on app embed. Your theme editor opens on the App embeds tab with eInvoice selected.
3. Make sure the eInvoice toggle is on, then click Save in the top right corner.
4. Come back to Storefront. The status changes to On.

The app embed has no settings in the theme editor. You set everything on the Storefront page.

To turn it off, open Online Store > Themes > Customize > App embeds in your Shopify admin, switch eInvoice off and click Save.

Step 2: Choose where the form shows

1. In Form placement, click Choose spot on store. Your store opens.
2. Click the spot on the cart page where the form should go.
3. Back in the app you see Spot received from your store. Choose Above or Below that spot under Position, then save.

If your store has a password, log in to your store first, then come back and click Choose spot on store again.

Placement code is filled in for you. Only change it if you know CSS.

If the home page or Storefront shows Not showing, the form did not show on your cart page last time the app checked. Your theme may have changed. Click Choose spot again.

Step 3: Buy now button

Buy now skips the cart, so customers never see the form. If your product pages have a Buy now button:

1. Turn on My store has a Buy now button. A popup asks for invoice details before checkout.
2. Click Choose Buy now button on store and click the button on a product page.

Step 4: Choose what customers fill in

In Invoice form:

• Hide the form when the customer does not pay in VND. Your invoice provider only accepts VND.
• Required for personal invoices. Choose which of Full name, Email and Address are required. If Email is not required and left empty, the invoice goes to the checkout email.

Company invoices always need the Tax ID, Company name and Company address.

The form checks what customers type, for example a tax ID of 10 digits (or 10 digits and a 3-digit branch code, like 0312345678-001), or a 12-digit ID card number.

Step 5: Match your theme

• Appearance. Colors, sizes and spacing of the card, fields, text and button.
• Form text. The title, description, checkbox and field labels, for each language your store sells in. English and Vietnamese texts are filled in for you.
• Preview. See how the form looks on your store. Switch Preview language to check each language.

Click Save when you are done.

Test it

1. Add a product to your cart and open the cart page.
2. Tick I need a VAT invoice, fill in the details and check out.
3. In Lisive eInvoice, open Orders. The order shows Invoice requested.

Not seeing the form?

• The app embed is off. Check Storefront > App embed.
• The app is turned off, or Online store is switched off. Check Settings > App status.
• The customer pays in another currency and the currency filter is on.
• Your theme changed. Click Choose spot again.
