Delivery date estimates
Show an estimated delivery date under each rate, with processing time, an order cutoff, holidays and blackout dates.
Rulify can show an estimated delivery date range with each rate at checkout.
Add a delivery time to a rate
- Open a scenario on Shipping rates.
- Under Rate customers see, fill in Delivery time, minimum and Delivery time, maximum in business days.
- Click Save.
Leave both empty to show the rate without a date.
Fine-tune the estimate
Without further setup, Rulify counts the delivery days from the day of the order and skips weekends. To add processing time and your own closed days, go to Settings, find Advanced delivery dates and turn it on.
| Setting | Effect |
|---|---|
| Processing days | Business days added before delivery days are counted. |
| Order cutoff | Orders placed after this time add one processing day. Uses 24-hour time, such as 14:00. |
| Time zone | The time zone used for the cutoff. Defaults to your store's time zone. |
| Holidays, skipped in counting | Dates skipped when counting days, like weekends. |
| Blackout dates, never delivered | Dates on which no delivery is ever scheduled. |
Saturdays and Sundays are always skipped.
How the date is calculated
Rulify starts from the time of the order in your store's time zone, then:
- Adds the processing days, plus one day if the order is after the cutoff.
- Adds the scenario's minimum and maximum delivery days.
- Skips weekends, holidays and blackout dates throughout.
Example: processing 1 day, cutoff 14:00, delivery 2 to 3 days. An order on Monday at 15:00 is after the cutoff, so processing takes 2 business days and ends on Wednesday. Customers see delivery from Friday to the following Monday.
