Everything you need to set up smart shipping rates with Rulify.

What Rulify does

Rulify gives you full control over what your customers see at checkout. Instead of relying on flat shipping settings, you decide exactly which rates appear, for whom, and when — based on what is in the order and where it is going.

Rulify is organised into features you turn on one at a time, so you only ever enable what you actually use. Create as many scenarios as you need; when more than one could apply, you choose which takes precedence, so customers always see the right options.

Turn on only what you need

The first time you open Rulify, you pick what you want to do and Rulify switches on just that feature. Each feature asks for its own permission only when you enable it, and you can turn one off at any time.

  • Custom shipping rates — control the rates shown at checkout with your own rules.
  • Delivery customization — hide, rename or reorder the delivery methods a customer sees.

Getting started

You can be live in a couple of minutes.

  1. Choose a goal on the first screen — Rulify turns on the matching feature and asks you to approve the permission it needs.
  2. Start from a ready-made template, or build your first scenario from scratch.
  3. Choose when it applies and what to charge, then switch it on.

Make sure your rates can show at checkout

Custom shipping rates appear at checkout on Shopify's Advanced or Plus plan, or on any plan with the carrier-calculated shipping add-on (included when you pay yearly). On other plans your rules still run, but Shopify may not display the calculated rate at checkout. If you don't see your rate, check this first.

Tailor rates to any order

Every scenario is a simple "when this, show this" rule: pick the conditions that should trigger it and set the rate to show. Combine conditions to be as precise as you like — require them all at once, or offer alternatives that each qualify on their own. Leave the conditions empty and the rate applies to every order.

  • Order value, total weight, or number of items.
  • The currency the order is placed in.
  • Products carrying a specific tag, or specific customers by their tag.
  • A particular product in the order — or one that must not be present.
  • The destination country.
  • The destination postcode, or a delivery zone you have saved.

Choose how you charge

Each scenario can price shipping in whatever way fits your business.

  • A flat fee.
  • A percentage of the order value.
  • A price per kilogram of weight.
  • Free shipping.
  • A blend of the above, combined into a single rate.
  • A rate table with tiers — for example $5 up to 1 kg, $8 up to 3 kg — by weight, order value or item count.

Add or discount fees automatically

On top of your rates you can automatically add an extra fee — such as a fuel, oversize or remote-area charge — or apply a discount. These adjust the rates a customer already qualifies for, so you never have to duplicate a scenario.

  • Apply an adjustment to one specific rate, or to every rate at once.
  • Use a discount to take money off; the price never drops below free.
  • Stack several adjustments together when more than one applies.

Show accurate delivery dates

Rulify can show an estimated delivery date alongside each rate, so customers know when to expect their order. Weekends are skipped automatically, and you can fine-tune the estimate from Settings.

  • Add handling time before delivery is counted.
  • Set a daily order cutoff in your store timezone — orders placed after it move to the next day.
  • Mark holidays to skip, just like weekends.
  • Block out dates on which you never deliver.

Reusable delivery zones

Group the places you ship to into named zones — by country, by postcode, or both — and reuse them across any scenario. Define a region such as "Central London" or "Mainland Europe" once, then simply point a condition at it instead of repeating the same places everywhere.

Try before you go live

Preview exactly what a customer would see before you publish anything. Test Mode runs any sample order through your scenarios and shows which rates would appear — nothing is charged and nothing is saved.

Once you are live, a detailed activity log shows recent rate requests and the rates that were returned, so you can confirm everything is working as intended. Available on paid plans.
